Doctrinal Statement of the Family Bible Church of Apache Junction, AZ

We confess belief in the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This confession embraces the biblical witness to God’s activity in creation, encompasses his gracious self-involvement in the dramas of history, and anticipates the consummation of God’s reign.

We believe we are adopted into the family of God through the accepting of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Furthermore, Our senior Pastor Ed West accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in Feb. 1966 as a senior in high school. Our lay and hired, staff along with appointed elders and elected church board officers do all profess this salvation experience.

We hold that Scripture is the primary source and criterion for Christian doctrine. Through Scripture the living Christ meets us in the experience of redeeming grace. We are convinced that Jesus Christ is the living Word of God in our midst whom we trust in life and death. We believe in the Virgin birth of Christ, His resurrection from the grave, His presence with God the Father and His return to earth to receive all believers unto Himself for eternity.

We affirm that God reaches out to the repentant believer in justifying grace with accepting and pardoning love. We believe a decisive change in the human heart can and does occur under the infilling, prompting of grace, discovering of spiritual abilities or gifts, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
In justification we are, through faith, forgiven of sin and restored to God’s favor. This righting of relationship by God through Christ calls forth our faith and trust as we experience regeneration, by which we are made new creatures in Christ.

This process of justification and new birth is often referred to as conversion. Such a change may be sudden and dramatic, or gradual and cumulative. It marks a new beginning, yet it is part of an ongoing process. The Christian experience as personal transformation always expresses itself as faith working by love and through the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that water baptism; preferably by submersion, is the appropriate response for the new Christian to give witness to our sins being forgive and washed by the blood of Christ and as dead to our sin being resurrected with Christ to newness of life.

Our theology also embraces the scriptural promise that we can expect to receive assurance of our present and eternal salvation and the Holy Spirit "bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God."

These are our basic Doctrinal stands and by God’s power we can be salt and light to a lost world. We desire to influence and lead everyone into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
